GLOW training center was established in September 2020 as a response to the economic crisis and the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus that Lebanon has been facing since a year ago, to give the adolescents and youth, mainly those located in Beirut city, a safe and educational space by which they can engage in a wide range of skills-building-activities, make new friends, exchange experiences and strengthen social cohesion.

The main goal of the “GLOW” training center is to ‘foster the active and resilient youth economically, personally, and socially’ in order to increase their empowerment, participation, and engagement with their communities as a means to ensure equity of participation for all individuals. For the long term, the “GLOW” training center aims to empower the Lebanese and non-Lebanese vulnerable youth who are poorly skilled and do not acquire adequate educational and professional readiness to guarantee their successful transition to sustainable livelihoods. As it is well known, Lebanon’s youth also demonstrate a low level of participation and civic engagement and feel disempowered by the political system due to the lack of representation, poor budget allocations, and weak implementation of youth programs and policies.
